The purpose of the Nakoma Valet Service is to provide club members convenient and trouble free access to the Nakoma parking lot. This will be accomplished by redirecting guest vehicles from lot parking to street parking whenever possible.
Valet employees will be able to identify full members -vs- guests and secondary members by the Nakoma sticker on the windshield of the member's cars.
If an auto has the Nakoma sticker, that car may be parked by the member in any available space in the lot. If the auto does not have a sticker, then that car must go through valet or be parked by the guest in the street.
During peak periods, you will be required to park and retrieve a great many cars in a short period of time. Please remember that your safety and the safety of those around you is more important than split second promptness in handling and retrieving the cars.
To the best of your ability, we expect you to be timely and quick in moving the vehicles but be cautious and careful in the handling of the automobiles.
It is the responsibility of valet personnel to direct non-members to valet or street parking. If a non-member inadvertently parks in the lot, you should approach them, courteously, and advise them of Nakoma's parking policy. Then recommend that they utilize valet or street parking. If the Non-member refuses to use valet or street parking, do not engage them further. Report this to your supervisor or to the Club Manager and let them handle it.
You will be provided with. Staff Shirts & Baseball Cap. We expect you to keep your attire clean and presentable at all times.
You are expected to maintain an alert, courteous, and upbeat attitude when interacting with Nakoma members and guests.
When a member or guest arrives, open the driver's door and greet the member/guest with "Good Morning", "Good Afternoon", or "Good Evening", "Are you here to golf or dine?" "May I have your name please?"
We use a (3) three piece ticket to I.D. and track the location of parked cars. Each piece of the ticket is numbered. Place the member/guest name on the top ticket and give the bottom ticket to the member/guest. Place the middle ticket on the dash board so that it can be easily seen from the outside.
After parking the vehicle, fill in the required information on the top ticket and place the top ticket and the auto keys together on the appropriate key ring in the valet station. you must match the Vehicles street or parking lot location with the key ring board location as closely as possible.
During peak periods it will be necessary to use street parking for incoming vehicles. When parking in the street, especially on the lower level of Country Club Drive or Manitou Way, the valet driver will be followed by a golf cart and valet person to retrieve the driver. The chase vehicle must always stay on the designated paths and the driver must maintain very safe speeds regardless of the work load.
The chase vehicle driver must also be aware of golfers on the tenth tee. Try to be as quiet and unobtrusive as possible.
The three piece ticket has a matching number on each portion. The member/guest gets the bottom portion, the middle piece is left on the dash and the top portion stays with the keys.
The parker will have written the member/guest name on the top piece, along with the car location, car color and the 1st three (3) letters or numbers of the license plate. When the member/guest presents his ticket, you will match the member/guest ticket number with the ticket on the key board. The ticket on the key board will give the car location. Once the car is located, you match the key ticket with the dash ticket.
When returning the car to the member/guest, pull the car up, leave the car door open, if traffic permits, and wish the member/guest a good day, afternoon, etc.
In the event of an accident or locked keys, advise your supervisor or Club Manager immediately.
Remember, do not hustle while in the car or in the chase vehicle, hustle when you are out of the car or chase vehicle.
