Nakoma Tennis
Madison's Nakoma Golf Club has a top-notch staff of tennis professionals and a variety of drills and events to fit everyone’s needs. Nakoma is also one of the only clubs in the area to offer spring and fall programs along with their summer schedule. We also offer several mixers at indoor clubs to break up the colder months.
Tennis Programs
- Beginner: This class is for first time players or for players who are just getting back into tennis and don’t feel they are ready for the intermediate class. Covers basics of all strokes, learning match play, singles, doubles and also some situational play.
- Intermediate: For 2.5-3.0 players who feel they have a good background on the fundamentals and are ready to start working on strategies, footwork, and situational play.
- Advanced: This is for 3.5 and above players looking to hone their skills. The main focus for these classes is higher-level strategy and situational play.
- Ladder League: Several divisions for both singles and doubles play are established and players are assigned to an opponent each week. Players set their own match time and report their scores to the Pro Shop.
- Tennis Membership options.
- Intermediate Drill/League: A league (for 3.0-4.0) that includes scheduled doubles matches with occasional byes follows weekly drills. Partners vary throughout the year and subs are available.
- Advanced Men’s Night: This group offers more advanced players (4.0+) the opportunity to drill and compete with other high-rated players. Nakoma professionals also join in this group for added fun and challenge.
- Open Play/Morning Drill: Sunday open play is a fun “drop by and play” atmosphere that usually develops into a regular group of players. Friday morning drills offer a great opportunity to hit some balls before heading off to work and are tailored to the players’ abilities.
